I am a 35 year old software engineer working in Redmond, Washington (Microsoft country). I am married (separated) and have one child (an incredibly intelligent and bright daughter, named Kristin). In my spare time, I enjoy trying to write innovative code (Perl, PHP, etc) to accomplish useful things in creative ways; I enjoy carpentry (although I am still waiting to build a full workshop); I also enjoy writing sci-fi, drawing political cartoons, traveling, and spending time with family and friends!

Wow, Kristian. My heart goes out to you in this unsettling time. I want to thank you for making your story available for others in this situation. Who knows how many you may help to cope — to know that they are not alone?
While I have never experienced divorce firsthand, I am still dealing with the aftermath of the dissolution of my husband’s first marriage. Those are scars that have not fully faded because he must still deal with her in order to see his precious son. I see the pain it has caused my husband and the pain it is causing his son (not to be able to see his daddy except a few times a year).
Please know that you and your daughter are in my prayers.
Blessings,
Lacy
I wish I didn’t have such a story to share. I always figured we would lead the happy, productive lives that would be the envy of everyone and instead it turned into a nightmare.
Hi Kris,
I stumbled on your old blog a week or two ago, and revisited this morning. Your new site looks a lot cleaner and brighter. Godd Job!
I was talking to my Mom this morning (Carol) and told her I found you on the web. Mayebe you’ll hear from her, too.
