I have been working on a website that I hope some day will be popular, but it is still a loooong way off from being commercially viable. While I think I have a good idea, I know my programming abilities are probably not up to the task of developing a truley scalable, production website. Now, I am a bit concerned, though, as my development site was recently walked by a company that goes after people for cybersquatting and/or copyright infringement. How does a person, as a developer of a website, determine whether or not their own site is infringing on someone else’s intellectual property rights?
